YOUR JOB CHANGED.
YOUR DEFINITION OF VALUE MAY NOT HAVE.
For years, being good at the work was how you knew you were good at your job. You had the idea. You solved the problem. You made the thing better. Your craft built your confidence—and your career.
Then you got more senior.
Now you’re expected to set direction, develop other creatives, influence stakeholders, make calls with incomplete information and create the conditions for great work—often while doing less of the hands-on work that made you feel valuable in the first place.
So why can a promotion you wanted leave you wondering where you fit?
Maybe this sounds familiar.
You keep jumping back into execution because it’s where you feel most competent.
You second-guess decisions you’re now supposed to make with authority.
You have the title, but internally you still feel like the person who should be proving themselves through the work.
You struggle to delegate because your standards—and your identity—are wrapped up in what gets produced.
You want to lead, but you don’t want to become more corporate, less creative or disconnected from the thing you love.
The problem may not be that you’re bad at leadership. Your role has expanded faster than your identity has.
I GET THIS WORLD.
You shouldn’t have to stop being a creative
to become a great creative leader.
I’m Carrie Brito. I started my career in entertainment, eventually becoming an Art Director, and I’ve spent more than 25 years working across creativity, brand strategy and identity. I also hold a Master’s in Spiritual Psychology.
My work has consistently been about seeing what’s underneath the surface: what makes someone distinct, where their perception of themselves is limiting their expression, and what needs to shift for them to occupy their next level more fully.
Beyond the Craft brings that lens to a transition I believe deserves much more attention: what happens inside a creative when the career that once rewarded them for making great work begins rewarding them for leading it.
HERE’S WHAT WE’LL DO.
You don’t need another generic lesson on how to manage people.

WHAT IF LEADERSHIP DIDN’T FEEL LIKE LEAVING
YOUR CREATIVE SELF BEHIND?
Imagine being able to step out of the weeds without questioning your value.
To give direction without needing to prove you could do it better yourself.
To trust your taste and judgment as much as you once trusted your execution.
To speak with more authority because you understand what you bring to the room now.
To see developing other creatives as an extension of your creativity—not a departure from it.
Your craft still matters. It just isn’t the whole job anymore.
This is for you if…
You're an Art Director, ACD, Creative Director, Design Director or senior creative moving into greater leadership.
You've been promoted—or you're preparing for the next level—and the shift feels bigger than you expected.
You're still jumping in to do the work because making feels easier than leading.
You're doing less hands-on creative work and questioning where your value comes from now.
You know you're good at what you do, but owning your authority feels different.
You're being asked to influence clients, teams or senior stakeholders in ways you weren't trained for.
You want to become a stronger leader without losing the creative person who got you here.
You're trying to figure out what your version of creative leadership actually looks like.
This isn't about becoming more corporate.
It's not about leaving your creative identity behind or performing some version of leadership that doesn't feel like you.
It's about expanding your identity to hold both: the creative you already are and the leader you're becoming.
That is the heart of the whole thing.
HERE’S WHAT WE’LL DO.
You don’t need another generic lesson on how to manage people.
-
A clearer understanding of why this transition can feel so disorienting—even when you've earned it
-
A new way to think about your value beyond what you personally produce
-
Insight into where you're still operating from your Maker Identity
-
A clearer picture of the creative leader you're actually becoming
-
A way to own greater authority without losing what makes you creative
-
Language for the value you now bring through your thinking, judgment, direction and influence
What to Expect
This isn't about becoming more corporate.
It's not about leaving your creative identity behind or performing some version of leadership that doesn't feel like you.
It's about expanding your identity to hold both: the creative you already are and the leader you're becoming.
That is the heart of the whole thing. And then — you'll finally have the version of yourself that got buried under "should."

I’M CARRIE.
I'VE SPENT MY CAREER AT THE INTERSECTION OF CREATIVITY + IDENTITY.
Brand authority doesn’t come from louder marketing or better positioning.
It begins within.
For over two decades, I’ve worked with leaders, coaches, and entrepreneurs to uncover the deeper identity behind their work and translate that into authentic, aligned personal brands.
Through my Authenticity Gap™ framework, I help coaches and entrepreneurs close the gap between who they truly are and how they show up — so their brand finally sounds unmistakably like them.
In the age of AI, that gap has never been more expensive to ignore.
What Clients are Saying
-

“Working with Carrie gave me a completely different understanding of what it actually takes to grow into the next level of leadership. What surprised me most was realizing how much of business growth is really about expanding your nervous system. Carrie helped me see that the discomfort that comes with visibility, risk, and growth isn’t a sign something is wrong — it’s simply your nervous system expanding to hold more.
Through the process, I developed a much deeper awareness of my patterns and how to move through what Carrie calls the “Identity Wobble.” Instead of questioning everything, I can now recognize when my nervous system is reacting versus when something is truly misaligned. That shift alone has been incredibly powerful.
If you’re someone who knows you’re capable of more but finds yourself getting stuck in doubt or overthinking, this work is invaluable. Carrie helps you do the inner work that allows the outer success to actually happen.”
— Katie Kruft-Richardson, Culture Systems Architect for Growth-Oriented Hospitality Brands. -

“Working with Carrie has been a meaningful partnership for our business over many years. From the very beginning, she took the time to truly understand the essence of our work and the way we serve our clients.
Carrie has an incredible ability to listen deeply and translate complex ideas into clear and thoughtful brand expression. She helped us articulate who we are, what we stand for, and how we want our work to be experienced by the people we serve.
What we value most is that Carrie approaches branding as a collaborative and evolving process. As our business has grown and evolved, she has continued to be a trusted partner in helping us refine and express our work in ways that feel authentic and aligned.”
– Allie Wik & Sandy Sullivan, Founder of The Alchemy Group
-

“Working with Carrie is an absolute gift that keeps on giving. She’s best in class when it comes to translating your vision, message, and voice into something extraordinary.
Carrie listens with a generous ear, asks powerful questions, and knows how to create something miraculous out of a few conversations. Her coaching allows you to settle in and relax so she can help bring out the very best in you.
Carrie was able to capture the essence of who I am, what I do, and how I serve in the world. Her work is nothing less than EXTRA-ordinary.
In addition, she is one of the most compassionate, fierce, kick-ass coaches in the business. She is the only one I choose to work with when it’s time to up-level my message and brand.
She’s the consummate professional and always over-delivers. There’s no one better on this planet when it comes to this work than Carrie Brito.
If you’re ready to take your message and your work to a world-class level, Carrie is who you want to work with.”
– Devon Bandison, The Game Changer Coach, Author and Speaker
-

“Working with Carrie helped me see my business—and myself—with fresh eyes. I came into our work feeling torn between what I’ve always done (and what reliably pays the bills) and the deeper work I’ve been feeling called toward. Carrie helped me untangle that, and I realized what I want isn’t unrealistic at all—it’s the natural next step in my evolution.
Through our conversations, I got clear on what truly lights me up and where I want to go next. Carrie has a gift for helping you hear your own voice again—then shaping it into something clear, structured, and actionable so you can move forward without the overwhelm.
This wasn’t “just branding.” It helped me reconnect to the deeper purpose behind my work and how I want to show up as a teacher, mentor, and leader from here.”
— Maria Sevilla, Pilates Master Teacher & Founder of Sevilla Bodyworks
-

“One of the things that immediately stood out about working with Carrie was how deeply she understood the spirit of my work. My approach to coaching and leadership has always been rooted in service, relationships, and values — and Carrie truly understood that from the beginning.
Rather than approaching branding as a marketing exercise, she helped me think about how my values, my story, and the way I work with people should be reflected in the brand itself. That level of understanding put her in a completely different category for me.
Carrie helped me articulate my work in a way that feels authentic, aligned, and deeply representative of the culture and relationships that are at the core of my business.”
– Sarah Auda, Founder of Three Beats Consulting
-

"Carrie sees people clearly - often more clearly than they see themselves. She's able to draw out their strengths and she is a gifted listener. Her ability to help people grow and shine whether it's through masterful visual communications OR through her coaching is outstanding. Carrie is accessible, she's real, and she is a gift to the coaching profession."
– Carolyn Freyer-Jones, Coach, Author, Founder of the CFJ Coaching Success School
-

“Working with Carrie was an incredibly clarifying experience. From our very first conversations, she created a space where I felt deeply seen and understood. She has a unique ability to listen beyond the surface and help you uncover what you’ve been trying to articulate but haven’t quite found the words for yet.
Through our work together, I gained a much clearer understanding of my voice, my direction, and the deeper purpose behind the work I want to share. Carrie helped me connect the dots in a way that felt natural, empowering, and aligned with who I truly am.”
– Nicole Mercolino, Co-Owner of The Empowerment Technology Corp, Training Consultant and Coach
-

“Working with Carrie Brito was hands down the best decision I've made for myself and my business in terms of brand development. Her deep, thoughtful process truly brought out the essence of who I am—my personality, my story, my passions—and she masterfully wove all of that into a brand that feels authentically me. Carrie has an incredible ability to craft a brand that not only reflects who you are but one you can be proud of and excited to share with the world. The experience was nothing short of transformative!"
– Jonny Roman, Executive Coach and Director of the CFJ Coaching Success School
-

“Working with Carrie created powerful awareness for me. The questions and conversations stayed with me long after the sessions — I found myself thinking about my work, my leadership, and how I show up in a completely different way. The process helped me step back, see patterns I hadn’t noticed before, and feel lighter and clearer about where I’m going next.”
— Shaunna Hatcher, Fractional CFO, Founder of SH Smart Net
-

“Carrie helped me really transform my message and brand. It is amazing to have a creative partner that works truly in her zone of genius. I knew it was time to up my game and I did!”
– Tina Quinn, Author and Coach
-

“Carrie helped me clarify, prioritize and make confident decisions. She played a vital role in helping me see my value, potential and further gaining my confidence. Her knowledge of the business aspect of being a creative entrepreneur was priceless while her creative nurturing was equally needed and thoroughly appreciated.”
– Abby Boehmer, Graphic Designer
